HOW TO IDENTIFY OR KNOW ORIGINAL MEMORY CARD.

HOW TO IDENTIFY OR KNOW ORIGINAL MEMORY CARD.

I am glad to write about this device. The production of all SD cards is overseen by the SD Card Association. Their mission, oversee quality production of SD cards in different classes with different logos representing the class of the SD card. Class in this case would mean speed at which data is shared from and to the SD card.
Class 2 cards read and write data at 2MBps
Class 4 at 4MBps

Class 6 at 6MBps and faster cards reads 45MB/s or higher.

It is important to understand what these classes mean as it will aid your decision to purchase SD cards.

How to spot fake SD cards?
The last paragraph above is one way to tell a fake from an original SD cards, other methods:

»Look out for this icon on the SD card or package.

»Read description for details on speed of the SD card – if details on pack do not tally with that on the SD card then it’s obvious the card is counterfeit.

»Do not fall for cheap priced SD cards (e.g. #600 for 32GB).

»Though prices vary

Alternatively, you can test the SD card with a free software called H2testw for PC, this will tell the speed at which your SD card runs and its full capacity.

Or

With SD insight mobile app.

Download and install the app, insert your SD card into your android phone/tablet, launch the app to see details of the manufacturer, date of manufacture, product name and serial number. You can also view SD card validation against its class rating for minimum data transfer rate.

If you are not convinced with the details displayed be sure to return the SD card to the retail store from where you purchased the SD card.

Another way to determine how genuine a card is, is to download an application on Google play store called Sdcard analyser. It can be used to check on writing speed also because it tell how the card manage its space and how it write and rewrite files.

The best Sd card is usually class 10. So if a card is class 10. The writing speed must be more than 10mb/s or appropriately 10mb/s. So even when you buy a card that claims to be class 10, you still need to watch out if it’s not class 10 you are buying. You know, the higher the class, the higher the speed, the higher the performance on your phone and other device.
Another physical way of knowing genuine qualities is that, original cards have serial number written on the side of the card.

Here are the steps.
2. Ask for class 10 SD card.
3. Use SD card analyser or SD insight or H2testw for PC to affirm authenticity.

In conclusion, I do not recommend you purchase your SD card online, because what you see online may not be what you get.
